Songs day 4! And pretty things

DAy 4:  A song that makes you sad.
Gladiator Theme song Now We Are Free by Lisa Gerrard
I always almost cry when I hear this song. If you've seen the movie gladiator, this is the song at the very end. If you havn't seen the movie, I suggest you do :)
I think I cry when i hear this song mostly because I remember the movie and also because its just so darned beautiful. Also, when I searched this song up, I learned something interesting. She's singing in a made up language. Pretty lyrical for a made up language i think :)
Anyways, thats day 4! Done!

Some Gorgeous flower decorating ideas

I absolutely love dahlias. The amazing assortment of variety and colour astounds me. I love the above idea because the dahlias take front row and are lit up by the candles.
Flowers and fruit! how cute! (sorry couldn't resist :P) But I especially love the flowers in the picture on the left in the pitcher.
Always loved this style of arrangement
I love the bright green and soft pink. This might be an inspiration for a scrapbook page sometime.
I love the terrarium style of the one on the left.

And I got the first sunburn of my life this weekend... Boo Hoo :(

Songs day 3!

Day 3: A song that makes you happy....
So i've got two of them :) I couldn't just pick one
I Follow Rivers (the Glee version), and True Affection by The Blows

I love both of them because the beats are just so... cute I guess. There are a couple of others that I really love and are in my cheer up playlist but these two are at the top. I picked the glee version of I Follow Rivers because thats the first time I ever heard that song, so it kind of stuck with me. The original version of the song is by Lykke Li and you can find it here
I guess I've also had this blog for two years and one month! Yay! didnt even notice till now :P

Song Day 1 and New Completed Project!

Day 1: Your favorite song
My favorite song is Breathe Me by Sia. I really love lyrical, kind of quiet music and this is the epitome of that. It's my go to song, and has like 500 more plays than any other song on my ipod. I don't really know how to describe how it makes me feel, kind of sad, thankful, and powerful at the same time. You'll have to listen for yourself :)

PLUS:
I'm nearly done this card/mini book/ thank you thing. All thats left is the letter "H". I'm kinda stuck with that one, any ideas? Pieced all these letters together myself :)

Letter T: traced from Tim Holtz masks

Oh Dear...

Have to say this is my favorite song of the moment. I'm hooked to this video. Plus they're Canadian :) so that makes me even happier :)

Wow its been a long time since I've blogged. Mostly since everything I've made lately was secrets and I cant post anything till I actually give them to the people whom they are destined for :) So.... you'll have to wait for those. But on the other hand, some more exciting Junior Achievement news has come up. My company Mugshot is one of 15 in ALL of NORTH AMERICA to be going to the Junior Achievement North America Finals in WASHINGTON DC!!! I'm super duper excited because, not only is this a fabulous experience, but also I'm going with all my favorite people from the company :) So we're planning on going for 4 days, one extra day than the competitions so we can explore DC. It means we have to do a lot of prep work to be ready for such a competition, and I'm going to be super busy, but I am SOOOO excited. This looks like it'll be the best summer of ever, a perfect way to hit it up before my first year of University. Thats all for now! I hope I'll have something to share soon!

PS: I've also Decided to do this 30 day song challenge, one of my friends just completed it and I want to give it a try.

Grad, First Page

My first scrapbook page with pictures from Grad :) A lot of the items on this page are found, or just completely made by me. The pink transparency in the middle and the patterned circle paper inspired this layout, and Im pretty happy with how this one turned out. That has to be the most expensive paper I've ever bought (the circle patterned paper) It was like $2 or something, but I usually just bypass the expensive stuff and go for the cheap. But this paper caught my eye, and I HAD to take it home.
I found the blue flower petals on the floor of home sense, I actually found a lot of flower petals on the floor :) so since the lady was gonna sweep them up anyways and discard them, I took them home. The paper circle in the centre is from the "Me and My Big Ideas Black and White Free Spirit paper pad, which I bought from Winners for CHEAP. The tan crumpled flower thing is made from tissue paper that they packaged my purchase from Aerie in.
The pink transparency is from the packaging of the circle cutter I bought from EK success. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to use it in a layout. The purple vellum is embossed in a Cuttlebug Embossing folder (and since I dont have a Cuttle bug machine, i used a rolling pin and a hammer :D So much cheaper but required a little bit of extra work and noise). The ribbon was ruffled by yours truly and was a bit of a pain haha.
I just LOVE that circle paper :) The flower is A Prima Calypso flower, and the Alphabet stickers are the Recollections Brand from Michaels. I bought all of them yesterday for 40% off :) I just love sales haha.
The lace doily is actually off of my table at grad. I took it home, cut it into triangles and distressed it with some tan ink. Then threaded some red thread through the top and made a banner.

Hope you like this one, I was so into it while making it that its probably the fastest layout that I have ever made. Grad was a blast by the way, and my mom surprised us with a LIMO :D It was fabulous.

Mugshot

My Junior Achievement company Mugshot was an amazing experience this year.  We ended up being one of (or THE) top company this year, and won some awesome awards like the Junior Achievement Best Company Pitch Award, which is what this picture is from.

Tesa

One of my moms friends dog just died, so my mom asked me to make a scrapbook page to put in a frame  to send to her. I found a page that I really like on two peas, and i used the layout as a basis of this one.
a rolled fabric flower, a butterfly cut out of a piece of paper and raised to make a shadow and a ruffled strip of ribbon.
a tissue paper flower in the top corner, the letters TESA stamped then cut out
a stamped cornflower silhouette and some flowers
The writing around it says: "If there is a heaven, it is certain our animals are to be there, Their lives become so intertwined with out own that it would take more than an archangel to detangle them."

Open House!

A scrapbook page for Open house. I've had the orange paper forever, and have just waited for an opportunity to use it. I like this page, but I'm kind of unsure about it at the same time.
Closeups of the parts in the "grid style" layout. This is the bottom right square (my friend doing an arial spin for the dance part during the rehearsal)
Bottom left corner, my two best friends fooling around with some ribbons from a ukrainian dancing headpiece.
My friend in the middle and the two in the top wearing Ukrainian dancing headpieces.
...yeah i guess its kind of obvious most of my friends ukrainian dance, haha.

the Journaling says: Open house this year was the best one ever! I made the promo poster again, so everyone saw my smiling face as soon as they walked in. We also all stayed after school and had a total blast just being silly. I took maybe 200+ pictures of the Ukie dancers during practice, and millions more of us later.
